Anthony David Loie
French teacher with more than 10 years of experience, Anthony holds a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Rouen in Normandy, France, and a Bachelor’s degree in Didactics of French as a Foreign Language from the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris. He has taught in Indonesia and Malaysia, working in various schools and universities. His professional background spans university and school teaching, as well as corporate training for private companies, NGOs, and government agencies. He is adept at preparing students for the IGCSE exam, IB DP, and DELF/TCF (French language exams for foreigners), and has experience in curriculum design.
Anthony encourages his students to develop their creativity and express their individuality assuming that every personality is interesting. He loves to teach about French culture as he is convinced that language and culture are inseparable. In addition to his professional interests, he is keen on history, politics, nature, music, and cinema, and enjoys traveling to explore new cultures.
Anthony believes a teacher’s mission is not only to impart knowledge but also to unlock each child’s potential, opening up more opportunities for their future. As Epictetus said, tantum eruditi sunt liberi (“Only the educated are free”).
