Laura Gančauskaitė

Mathematics Teacher

After graduating in Economics and working in the banking sector for several years in the UK, Laura switched her career to teaching in 2014. She earned a PGCE from Nottingham University and began teaching Mathematics at City College Coventry in England.

After moving to Spain, Laura joined The English Montessori School in Madrid, where she taught Business and Maths, primarily at the IGCSE and A level. Her experience there allowed her to integrate innovative teaching methods and incorporate real-world applications of mathematical concepts to inspire students.

Laura then continued her teaching career at the British School of Navarra in Pamplona, her husband’s hometown. Here, she gained valuable experience teaching IB Mathematics. This role allowed her to develop a deeper understanding of the International Baccalaureate curriculum and to create a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Her teaching philosophy centers around fostering a growth mindset, encouraging students to embrace challenges, and supporting them to develop resilience and perseverance.

In her free time, Laura enjoys hiking, cycling, and active sports, and love spending time with her family – she is a mum to two lovely daughters, Adriana and Alexandra.
