Rūta Petkevičiūtė

Coordinator of International Relations and Partnerships, and Junior International Baccalaureate Coordinator, mentor for international students

Rūta is an alumna of the Lithuanian Education Program’s Lithuanian School in Brazil, she holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in media and digital publishing. With four years of active representation for students at the Vilnius University Student Representation, she later became the president of the student representation of this faculty. In June 2021, she went to South America. There, she not only worked as a Lithuanian language teacher but also took responsibility for creating and disseminating communication for the Republic of Lithuania Consulate in São Paulo, Brazil. She now performs the same role at the Erudito Licėjus in Kaunas.

Rūta could be described as the coordinator of internationality and ambassador at the Erudito Licėjus: she organizes international camps, coordinates “Erasmus+” projects, and manages university relations with senior students at the Erudito Licėjus, simply put, helping them “meet”. “I really like the specificity of my work because I can take on new initiatives and create opportunities for young individuals to see the world, broaden their horizons, and learn from different cultures. I believe there is no better way to explore the world than through travel.”

Rūta believes that international student exchange programs not only help to get to know ourselves and the world around us better, but also “open new doors” for a young person and create his future.
