Sarah Jane Binka
Sarah is a middle and secondary teacher with experience across a broad range of subject areas: English Literature, History, and her primary teaching area, modern foreign languages (French, Spanish, and Italian). She has a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Letters, and a first class Honours degree, for which she wrote her thesis on twentieth century American political history.
In 2023 she was awarded Highly Accomplished Teacher status in her home country of Australia, in recognition of her high quality teaching practice and support of colleagues’ professional development.
Sarah approaches languages education with a modern and evidence-based pedagogy that places storytelling, communication, and positive emotions at the forefront. This focus enables students to feel competent and motivated in their language acquisition classroom.
She believes in the transformational power of learning a foreign language and aspires to guide students through their first steps on this journey.
