Erudito Licėjus at the Largest U.S. Independence Day Celebration in Lithuania and the Baltic Region

On July 4th, Erudito Licėjus participated in the traditional U.S. Independence Day celebration organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania (AmCham). This year’s event, with a record number of participants, became the largest U.S. Independence Day celebration in Lithuania and the entire Baltic region. Around 5,000 people gathered at Verkiai Palace Park to celebrate democracy, and U.S. culture, and traditions.

Impressive U.S. Culture Festival

Celebrating U.S. Independence Day for the 24th time in Lithuania, this event is the largest American celebration in our country and the entire Baltic region, bringing together and uniting business and political elites, diplomats, and American partners and friends. Erudito Licėjus, a partner of the American Chamber of Commerce and a co-organizer of this event, along with its sister early education school “Eureka,” set up a booth where various educational activities and workshops for children took place. The event offered entertainment for the whole family: attendees enjoyed a special program, a concert by Donatas Montvydas and the group “Poliarizuoti Stiklai,” a musical “Soundclash LIVE” duel between Jurgis Brūzga and Dileta Meškaitė-Kisielienė, American BBQ, and many other attractions. The 28th Infantry Division musical group from Pennsylvania created an American atmosphere. Traditionally, attendees dressed in the colors of the U.S. flag—red, blue, stars, and stripes.

“We aimed to create an impressive festival, showcasing U.S. culture and traditions, inviting everyone to get to know America better,” said Živilė Sabaliauskaitė, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania. “The U.S. is a particularly important strategic partner for Lithuania, so it’s gratifying to see such a large crowd come together to celebrate these ties and cultivate culture and partnership.”

The U.S. Example Inspires the Education System

The U.S. is an exceptional example of success that many aspire to, including Lithuania. This year’s celebration focused on the best practices and values of Western thinking.

According to Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa, founder and director of Erudito Licėjus, the students of Erudito Licėjus, with their global thinking and creative potential, firmly hold a civic position upon which American society’s worldview is built—to change the world, make it better, and be an example to others. “Applying such Western thinking and approach not only creates a strong foundation for leadership but also opens up new opportunities to educate the younger generation, who will be ready to implement innovative solutions in the future. What can we learn from the U.S.? It’s the ability to strive for success despite challenges, creating a global and unique culture that fosters creativity and dynamism. On July 4th, together with the early education school ‘Eureka,’ we will celebrate these values and aim to share knowledge and practices based on insights and discoveries that could contribute to the improvement of education in Lithuania,” said N. Pačėsa.
