One of the things I appreciate the most growing up nomadically between countries and different types of schools (with my family behind a typical story of the world’s globalized workforce), is my genuine appreciation in people’s difference as a professional expat myself now. As I entered the field of education both as a researcher and an administrator, it intrigues me how my eagerness and ability to work with diversity allows me to keep updated with new- sometimes contradicting- perspectives, but nevertheless, aids my flexibility to stay open to new possibilities.
All education institutions claim to employ different teaching approaches and a curriculum that influence young personalities to be curious and capable lifelong learners. However, what I really would like to touch on, is the importance of an infused international-mindedness during a child’s upbringing through multi-cultural settings.
