Education
Students at Erudito Lyceum have the opportunity to learn in a truly international environment, where teachers and students come from over 30 countries worldwide. Erudito Lyceum is renowned for its strong focus on project-based learning—students work on practical solutions to real-world problems in collaboration with leading organizations such as the MO Museum, Lithuanian and international universities, learning centers, and businesses.
Entrepreneurial thinking is also encouraged through entrepreneurship classes, startup simulations, and technology literacy activities starting from Grade 5. Additionally, the school offers extra hours in mathematics, languages, and biology lessons.
The fundamental educational principles at Erudito Lyceum are integral, experiential, and thinking-based learning. The lyceum continuously cultivates effective thinking habits such as impulse control, precision, empathetic listening, the ability to think about one’s own thinking (metacognition), responsible risk-taking, and more. The entire lyceum community is involved in learning to think effectively, critically, and creatively, and in applying these skills and techniques to build an effective teaching and learning program. This way, a thinking-focused learning environment is created at the school.
Erudito Lyceum features a modern and ergonomic environment — innovative laboratories with 3D printers, a swimming pool, and learning classrooms equipped with the latest technology. Great attention is given to students’ well-being. Chef Gian Luca Demarco ensures nutritious meals and fosters a culture of healthy eating. The student well-being team supports smooth and healthy development for all learners.
At Erudito Lyceum, most lessons are organized in block format. Blocks last 75 minutes for grades 0–1 and 90 minutes for grades 2–12. This longer duration gives teachers more space to organize diverse and engaging learning activities, using active teaching methods. During lessons, time is allocated for a short movement break, or active and dynamic methods are incorporated throughout the entire block.
Primary school classes have 3 blocks per day, grades 5–7 have 3.5 blocks daily, and grades 8–10 have days in the middle of the week when they have 4 blocks.
In primary grades, formative assessment is applied, providing feedback on the individual student’s progress. In lower secondary grades, both criterion-based and formative assessments are used. Criterion-based assessment is expressed through grades on a ten-point scale and is presented in the electronic gradebook with brief teacher comments. Formative assessment is intended to give feedback on the student’s progress according to the targeted competencies.
Erudito Lyceum uses the electronic gradebook system ManageBac, which is tailored for both national and international classes, accommodating students and families alike.
At Erudito Lyceum, there is no homework, but that doesn’t mean students don’t have activities outside of lessons. The school uses a different term — “independent tasks,” which focus more on the outcome rather than repetitive work and involve methods that don’t require constant teacher supervision. The primary goal of independent tasks is to foster engagement and develop general competencies.
