Anthony David Loie
French teacher Anthony Loie has more than 10 years of experience. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature at the University of Rouen in Normandy, France, and his Bachelor’s degree in French as a Foreign Language Didactics at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO) in Paris.
Anthony has taught in Indonesia and Malaysia, working in various schools and universities. His professional experience covers both university and school teaching, as well as consulting for companies and conducting private training in corporations, NGOs, and government agencies. He is highly skilled in preparing students for the IGCSE exam, the IB DP, and the DELF/TCF (French language exams for non-native speakers), and he also has experience in curriculum design.
Anthony encourages his students to develop their creativity and express their individuality, as he firmly believes that every personality is unique and interesting. He enjoys teaching about French culture, convinced that language and culture are inseparable. Beyond his professional interests, Anthony is passionate about history, politics, nature, music, and cinema, and he also loves traveling to discover new cultures.
Anthony believes that a teacher’s mission is not only to impart knowledge but also to help reveal each child’s potential, opening up greater opportunities for their future. As Epictetus once said, tantum eruditi sunt liberi – “only the educated are free.”
