Rūta Petkevičiūtė

Rūta is an alumna of the Lithuanian education program at the Lithuanian school in Brazil. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Media and Digital Publishing. Rūta gained extensive experience over four years actively representing students in the Vilnius University Student Representation, later becoming the chairperson of her faculty’s student council. In June 2021, she moved to South America. There, she not only worked as a Lithuanian language teacher but also was responsible for creating and managing communications for the Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in São Paulo, Brazil. She now performs a similar role at the “Erudito” Lyceum in Kaunas.

Rūta could be called the Internationalization Coordinator and ambassador at “Erudito” Lyceum: she organizes international camps, coordinates “Erasmus+” projects, and facilitates university connections with senior students at the lyceum. Simply put, she helps students “meet” opportunities. She says, “I really enjoy the specifics of my work because I can take on new initiatives and create opportunities for young people to see the world, broaden their horizons, and learn from different cultures. I believe there is no better way to discover the world than through travel.”

She believes that international exchange programs not only help young people better understand themselves and the world around them but also “open new doors” for their personal growth and future development.
