Giedrė Vilkaitė-Gürsoy
Giedrė is a primary school teacher in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), who has spent the past five years gaining experience at a private international school in Turkey. She believes that this teaching experience is valuable in creating a warm, nurturing, and compassionate classroom atmosphere where students can develop both academically and emotionally. Giedrė earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Philology from Kaunas University of Technology and later completed a Master’s degree in Media Philosophy. She further deepened her knowledge of communication and interaction through a Master’s in Integrated Communication at Vytautas Magnus University. While focusing on pedagogy, she obtained her IB PYP teaching qualification. She places great emphasis on developing children’s emotional intelligence, language learning, and reading skills, and therefore continually participates in training to enhance her expertise in these areas. Giedrė embodies the values that are central to our community – respect for every student. She strives to create a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and heard. Her teaching style is communication-oriented, ensuring that every student’s ideas are acknowledged and understood.
She follows the principle of inviting others to embark together on a journey of growth and learning, embracing the power of respect and communication.
