Marwa Eid

Marwa graduated from the American University in Cairo with a BA in English and Comparative Literature and a minor in International Relations. She also holds a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and a Diploma in Secondary Education. Marwa has 17 years of teaching experience in the IBDP programme – History and Theory of Cognition (TOK), as well as 4 years of teaching experience at university level in Egypt and Kuwait. In addition, she has extensive managerial and administrative experience as Head of the Social Studies Department and Deputy Head of Secondary School at Hayah International Academy in Cairo, Egypt.
Marwa was actively involved in the transformation process of her previous school, when it moved from an American Diploma-based curriculum to a full IBDP continuum school. She has been involved in various accreditation and evaluation processes and was a member of the Middle States Association accreditation team. Marwa has also facilitated numerous workshops to share her experience as a subject teacher and educator.
Marwa’s commitment to education is driven by her passion to inspire change and see its transformative power. In a world where miscommunication and short-termism are becoming a dominant feature of society, Marwa firmly believes in the need to equip the younger generations with the critical thinking skills that will enable them to become autonomous learners and thinkers.
