Learning Through Art: The Sustainable Partnership Between Erudito Lyceum and MO Museum
The sustainable partnership between Erudito Lyceum and MO Museum is transforming the approach to education—here, art becomes part of everyday learning. Creative projects, educational programs, and teacher training help nurture curious, critical-thinking students and courageous, open-minded educators.
The long-term partnership between Erudito Lyceum and MO Museum is a meaningful collaboration where education meets art, giving new forms to the learning process. What unites the two institutions is not only joint projects and educational programs but also a shared approach to modern education—creative, value-driven, and focused on the holistic growth of each individual.
The partnership began with joint educational projects, and today it has grown into a sustainable collaboration that encompasses both students’ creative processes and teachers’ professional development.
“One of the main goals of MO Museum is to collaborate with the educational community, encourage young people to take an interest in art, and inspire teachers to integrate culture into the learning process,” says Jurgita Zigmantė, Head of Education at MO Museum. According to her, Erudito Lyceum is one of those partners with whom it is possible not only to implement joint activities but also to experiment—seeking ways for art to become an organic part of education.
Art – A Way to Think More Broadly
Students who participate in MO Museum’s educational programs, seminars, and creative projects gain not only cultural knowledge but also develop critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Visual thinking and the use of artistic methods across different subjects (from languages to sciences) help children form associations, seek unexpected solutions, and learn to see the world from different perspectives.
Such projects become a space for free thought, self-expression, and reflection—something especially important in modern education, which is increasingly focused not only on the transfer of knowledge but also on the ability to apply it creatively and meaningfully.
Benefits for Teachers
The partnership with MO Museum extends beyond working with students—it is also an important platform for teacher development. Erudito Lyceum teachers regularly take part in cultural education training, where they explore visual thinking strategies, opportunities for integrating art into formal education, and ways of fostering cultural awareness.
“This partnership allows our teachers to discover new ways in which visual methods and cultural context can enrich lessons. Through creative projects, students learn not only about art but also about a new way of thinking—bold, critical, and seeking connections between different subjects,” emphasizes Erudito Lyceum founder Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nerijus Pačėsa.
The training goes beyond theory—teachers are invited to experience cultural spaces, analyze artworks, engage in discussions and reflection, and look for new ways to bring these experiences into their daily work. This strengthens not only professional skills but also community-building competencies.
“Together with our partners, we are creating an educational model in which the growth of every community member—both student and teacher—becomes an inseparable part of the process,” adds J. Zigmantė.
A Cohesive Educational Vision
This model of partnership highlights an important aspect—art in education should not be seen as a separate field. It can serve as a bridge between different subjects, skills, and experiences. Creativity, empathy, communication skills, and visual literacy are all developed through artistic activities that are integrated into formal education.
This is education where culture is not presented as an added value but is naturally woven into the learning process—as a means to understand oneself, others, and the world.
