10 reasons why the IB DP prepares you better for university

01

Expands academic opportunities

Research* shows that graduates of the International Baccalaureate Program (IBPP) are much more likely to enter top-tier higher education institutions than those with other qualifications.

02

Students care about more than just academic results

By participating in creativity, activism, and volunteering activities (CAS), students learn outside the classroom and develop emotionally, ethically, and intellectually.

03

Encourages you to become a confident and independent learner

For example, an Extended Essay requires independent, in-depth research on a subject area of the student's choice and is presented in a manner that meets academic requirements.

04

IB DP – international qualification

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is recognized by universities and employers around the world.

05

Students think globally

Language learning promotes international thinking – which is especially important in an increasingly globalized world.

06

Encourages critical thinking

Students learn to analyze and evaluate problems, generate ideas, and look at things from new perspectives.

07

IB DP students gain time management skills

Good study habits and strong time management skills help you continue to learn and work.

08

The IB DP is assessed on more than just exams.

You learn to understand, not just memorize facts or topics for exams.

09

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) lessons promote interdisciplinary knowledge

Students analyze how knowledge is created in different fields, which develops the ability to connect different things and think beyond the boundaries of a single discipline.

10

Encourages both deep and broad learning

You can choose subjects from six subject groups and study them at different levels.

Teachers always aimed to provide flexibility, while also encouraging timely completion of tasks. There was a strong mutual respect between teachers and students. The connection between them included moments of laughter as well as meaningful conversations about the subjects.

At ‘Erudito’ Lyceum, besides all the essential knowledge, I learned life skills that are useful, such as collaborating with others, how to complete a project more efficiently, and understanding which qualities of each team member are the best, and so on. These questions had to be answered before starting work, which motivated improvement.
